“Scrum Masters with a technical background are preferred over the ones who don’t” How true is this statement? If it is, then WHY is this the case? In this video, I reveal the results of two simple but eye-opening Experimental Studies, that I conducted to get to the bottom of this little-explored pain point from the development team. But we won’t just leave it at that. We will explore the potential fix. Let’s not just talk about the problems. 1. Your every video has a common theme. Simplicity – the art of maximizing the work not done – is essential. Thanks for educating us in simple terms. Can you please share your opinion on following question – “Is scrum master entry level role”?

    1. It’s very difficult to perform the role of a SM as an entry level role. I’d say no, it is not.

    2. Thank you Raja. As Miguel said, it’s not an entry level role. It is a specialized role one that makes sense once you have some experience as a member of some kind of a team.

  2. I am exactly in same situation. Recently got my role changed from Business Analyst to Scrum Master. Being from Non Tech background I am strongly hoping that this series would help me. Thanks Vibhore for picking this topic.

    1. Sir, is scrum master good than. Business analyst? And is programming required for scrum master..and how is your job going..? I am in same situation..pls guide🙏

  3. Hey Vibhor, this was exactly what I was looking for. I m trying hard to switch my career from operations to scrum master.. Your videos would be really helpful.. Will watch all your videos . please help us getting such more videos in future..thanks

  4. Hi Vibhor,
Your videos are eye openers! It’s just so crisp and easy to understand. Please continue to deliver these amazing videos, i am sure it’s going to help n number of people. Thank you so much.

  5. Thank you for this. It’s obvious that having a basic knowledge of the industry is very helpful in working better as a scrum master.

  6. Thank you for the great video! if you have a video of the SDLC process and technical jargon i would be glad to see it!

  7. I’ve seen Scrum masters hired by service company working at client side are treated inhumane, like do something i don’t give a damn you follow agile or not, Big bang delivery is important, create runbooks,…..can you make a video on this?

  8. even big 5 IT companies don’t have tech-scrum masters then how still they are able to deliver a solution on time? and what could be the main reason behind the team who’s having non tech SM but still can able to deliver things on time.

  9. I feel like a Technical Scrum Master is favored in a situation where there is a lot of tech talks – which in itself perhaps a bad sign that we focus on technical details themselves.
